Pit Fits
February 2, 2013
Our friends Larry and Shyamala call them 'pit fits.' They have a full grown pit bull that could be Opal's twin brother and I was telling them that every once in a while Opal gets these crazy bursts where she hops like a bunny then tears around the house - sometimes running in circles - with a look on her face that just has to get it out. Then she plops down and goes back to being a lap dog.
Their dog does the same thing and he's not a puppy. Maybe it's the breed. Maybe it's New York. Maybe they're flouridating the water, Mandrake.

there is no such thing as a bad pit bull, only a bad pit bull owner the dog will only act/react as to what its owner teaches I've had two pits since the birth of my dguehtar (now 14 mo.) my first was unfortunateley hit by car and left me grieving and heart broken that I had to get another one. And both protect that child and play with her as tho she was one of their pups, but you dont hear these good stories about a pit bull they are excellent family pets and where they excell most is with children If an irresponsible pb owner wants to teach and instsill aggression in a beautiful, loving animal then it is the owner who is bad not the innocent dogs fault so take my advice, adopt a bully and enjoy the time God allows you to spend with it, as the experience will be rewarding to you both..
Ivana, I hadn't had a dog in eons and never had a pitbull. Pitfits were crazy to watch at the beginning! Ours is almost 7 months now and though she still has the occasional pitfit we're no longer her chew toy and those sharp puppy teeth are gone.
I just got a 3 months old female pit bull and does exactly what you explained! It was kind of wacky to see it at the beginning, being a first-time dog owner, now we just wait for her to go back to her perpetual nap :)
